I really love hiking. I also have a notoriously bad sense of direction. Butte County Traversed was created with the intent of both compiling fun day hike excursions and documenting some of the specific details that I have wished for on many an ill-begun and half-done hike such as updated hiking directions, geographical coordinates and trailhead photos.

My partner and I both have fairly sedentary jobs so we like to get outside as much as possible on the weekends. We live in Chico and try to avoid extensive drives so the majority of the hikes detailed here will be located in Butte County and surrounding areas.
